which bikes are compatible with the VTB Motors

VTB Beast 28kW (Lightweight Platforms)
Commonly fitted to Sur-Ron Light Bee, Talaria XXX, and E Ride Pro SS 2.0 / 3.0 and SR models. Designed as a high-performance upgrade for lightweight platforms. Depending on your specific bike, different harness or connector options may be required.

VTB Ryuga 52kW (Hairpin Motor)
Marketed as a compact high-power upgrade for Sur-Ron Light Bee, Talaria models, 79Bike platforms, and E-Ride Pro bikes. Fitment may require the correct mounting configuration and compatible controller/battery setup.

VTB Ryuga 81kW (Hairpin Motor)
Primarily engineered for the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee platform. This motor is typically listed as Ultra Bee–specific and should be treated as such unless a verified adapter solution is provided.

Note: Fitment can vary by bike year/model and harness type.Even when a motor is listed as compatible, customers should confirmmounting pattern, connector type (hall/encoder), and voltage/current pairingwith their controller + battery before ordering.

should I choose the pro or max controller?

Voltage & Power Handling:

  • The Pro is typically aimed at 60V–80V systems, making it ideal for riders on standard 72V builds where smooth, strong performance and excellent throttle control are priorities. It’s often recommended for most “stock-plus” builds where torque and throttle feel are critical.
  • The Max steps up to support 72V–96V systems, offering a bit more headroom for power and thermal handling. That extra voltage capacity means it suits high-performance builds better — riders who plan to run heavier gauge batteries or want more reserve for mods and higher sustained output.

Ride Style & Terrain:

  • Pro: Best for riders focused on responsive throttle feel, smooth torque delivery, and controlled trail riding where instant control is more important than outright power. Ideal for fast trail climbing, technical sections, and riders who prefer finesse over raw output.
  • Max: Better for more aggressive riding, sustained high-speed runs, and heavy-terrain abuse where additional voltage and thermal overhead mean the controller can manage power spikes without hitting limits. Great for open trails, high-speed runs, and riders who want future upgrade flexibility.

In Short:

  • Pro: Balanced performance & control → great for most builds
  • Max: Higher headroom and performance → suited for heavier power demands, future upgrades, and riders pushing harder setups.

should I choose the Beast or RYUGA Motor?

VTB Ryuga (Hairpin Motors)

  • Performance: Uses hairpin winding technology — flat copper bars instead of traditional round wire — which improves efficiency, cooling, and torque density. This design allows the motor to deliver very high peak power (e.g., 52.5 kW in some versions) and excellent acceleration, with high efficiency and better heat management.
  • Weight: The Ryuga 52 kW variant weighs around 10.4 kg — relatively light for the performance delivered.
  • Best For: Riders who want high power without excessive weight, aggressive acceleration, and a motor that stays cooler under sustained load. Great for trail riding, technical terrain with quick bursts of speed, and builds where precise throttle control and efficiency matter.
  • Variants: There are different ratings (e.g., ~52 kW, ~81 kW for Ultra Bee applications), so riders can choose based on voltage and desired top end.

VTB Beast (Traditional/Classic High-Power Motor)

  • Performance: Typically positioned as a strong “big torque” motor with a focus on raw low-end power and pull — excellent for bikes like the Sur-Ron Light Bee when fitted as a drop-in upgrade.
  • Best For: Riders on a tighter budget or entry-level high-power upgrade path who want significant improvement over stock performance without moving into ultra-high output zones. Well-suited for trail riding and general off-road use where big torque at low speeds and reliability are priorities.

In Short:

  • Ryuga: Higher efficiency, more refined performance, lighter weight — best for aggressive riders and performance builds.

  • Beast: Strong torque and rugged performance — great as a powerful, cost-effective upgrade.
