Sur Ron Battery 72v 62Ah Dark Angel Special Edition 25KW is a 72v 20S battery and was primarily designed for high power and HUGE long range. With a powerful aftermarket controller (see our controllers page) the set up for this battery will be 25Kw, depending on your motor. Please observe the specifications for your controller and motor. Exceeding the recommended limited may invalidate your warranty.
Exoskeleton /Casing
We have upgraded the casing to marine grade 316 stainless steel, so absolutely no rust issues here! Super tough and powder coated inside and out.
Connectors
For the main Sur Ron Battery to controller connector we use one direct set of discharge cables to the controller via a high capacity QS8 connector using very large 6 AWG cables (this reduces internal resistance and heat build up).
We use a heavy duty QS8 anti spark connector going through a high power harness that needs to be installed to replace the lower powered OEM harness. We supply the high power harness and it is super simple to install.
Domestic Electrics
All your bike accessories are still powered. Some believe that not using the circuit breaker direct to the controller removes the safety of the circuit breaker. However, all our batteries have a full working BMS. Any power shorts or irregular current and the BMS shuts down. This is much more sensitive and accurate than a mechanical breaker (you may note that the Sur Ron Ultra Bee does not use a circuit breaker and relies on the BMS alone).

Fitting
This battery is designed to fit straight into the bike and maximize the whole battery compartment. The hatch bolts will need swapping out with longer bolts and a lid lifting kit that we supply free of charge.
This battery is tall and the battery lid compartment lid catch will need to be removed each time the battery goes in and out of the bike. It is our advise to leave the battery in place all the time and only remove it for transportation or long term storage.
If you install an aftermarket seat riser kit, then the battery is much easier to get in and out and the catch will not need replacing with a shorter version (our standard spacer). In this scenario with an aftermarket seat lifting kit, you will need a different size lid lifting kit, all available here:
Connecting To Bike
When connecting the battery to the bike and to avoid a spark, turn the red trip switch on the bike to off. Connect the older original power cable and then turn the red trip to on. Then connect the new power leads. Removing the battery has no special order.
Battery Charging
First time charging is VERY important. Always connect the charger to the battery with the charger powered up at the mains first. This will stop a “Connection Spark”. The battery needs a “Balance Charge” on first charge. Please charge for 12 hours first time. Always charge your battery in a safe place and never unsupervised.
