- The 2026 Sur-Ron Hyper Bee is Sur-Ron's smallest off-road bike: 40 mph top speed, 8 kW peak power and 39 kg.
- It suits riders who can reach the ground from a 665–705 mm seat. That puts it between a Revvi 24 and a full-size Light Bee X.
- A parent remote switches between three power modes and cuts the motor if needed.
- It's off-road only: private land, with the landowner's permission.

What's new on the 2026 Hyper Bee?
Sur-Ron raised peak power to 8 kW for 2026 and fitted a new 58V 22Ah battery. Anti-wheelie control is now standard, and the bike links to Sur-Ron's app for power settings.
2026 Sur-Ron Hyper Bee (14"/12")The 0–31 mph time is the figure that matters on a track or trail. The Hyper Bee is built for quick bursts between corners, not long straights.
The drivetrain is different from the Light Bee's too. The motor is mounted sideways and there's no belt drive, so there's no belt to snap mid-ride and fewer moving parts for small hands to get caught in. The frame is forged aluminium, and the front and rear suspension are both fully adjustable, so you can set them up for your rider's weight.
Who is the Hyper Bee for?
Sur-Ron doesn't give an age range, so go by seat height. Your child should sit on the bike with the balls of both feet on the ground. If they can't, they'll struggle to hold it up when stopped, so look at the lower 12"/10" version or a Revvi 24 instead.
Adults can ride it, but the suspension isn't built for heavier riders on jumps. The fit checks in our Revvi size guide work here too.
Hyper Bee or Light Bee X: which should I buy?
| Spec | Hyper Bee | Light Bee X |
|---|---|---|
| Top speed | 40 mph | 50 mph |
| Peak power | 8 kW | 10 kW |
| Weight | 39 kg | 59 kg |
| Seat height | 665–705 mm | 830 mm |
| Wheels | 14" / 12" | 19" / 18" |
| Battery | 58V 22Ah | 72V 35Ah |
The 20 kg weight gap and the extra 125 mm or more of seat height decide this, more than top speed. The Light Bee X is a full-size bike for teenagers and adults. The Hyper Bee is for riders who can't yet hold up or reach the ground on a Light Bee. Choose it as the step between a Revvi 24 and a Light Bee.
Moving up from a Revvi 24 instead? The Hyper Bee is 10 mph quicker at the top and about 8 kg heavier, on a pit-bike chassis with fully adjustable suspension. It's the natural next step for a rider who has outgrown their Revvi but isn't big enough for a Light Bee.

14/12 or 12/10 wheels?
The Hyper Bee comes in two wheel setups:
The more popular setup
The standard choice for riders who reach the ground comfortably.
Sits lower
For smaller riders. If they only just reach the ground on the 14"/12", the smaller wheels will give them more confidence.
Choose by your child's height, not their age. Ask us if they're between the two.
What safety features does the Hyper Bee have?
Most of the Hyper Bee's safety features are built for parents of younger riders:
- Parent remoteSets the power mode (1, 2 or 3) with plus and minus buttons, so your child can't go faster than the mode you choose.
- Kill switchThe same remote cuts the motor instantly.
- Walkie-talkieYou can talk to your rider through the bike from the remote.
- Ready buttonMust be pressed before the bike will move, so a knocked throttle won't send it off.
- LanyardClips to the rider and disables the bike if it's pulled out.
- Tilt sensorCuts power if the bike is dropped.
- Anti-wheelie controlHelps stop the front lifting under hard acceleration.
Throttle response is adjustable too. Start a new rider on mode 1 with a soft throttle and step up as their control improves.
How long does a Hyper Bee battery last?
Sur-Ron's range claim is for steady riding at 25 mph. Fast riding on a track or trail drains the battery much quicker, so expect a lot less than that from a hard session.
The battery has no cables to unplug. It comes out with a quick-release clasp in a few turns, and it charges through a magnetic connector. A 20–80% top-up takes about 2 hours.
Can you upgrade a Hyper Bee?
Yes, for comfort, protection and looks. Our Hyper Bee frame and CNC upgrades include footpegs, handguards, seat covers and graphics kits. Some Light Bee parts fit too, such as Warp 9 footpegs.
Check with us before buying any upgrade, especially for power, as not every Light Bee part suits the smaller frame.
Is the Sur-Ron Hyper Bee road legal?
No. It's off-road only, on private land with the landowner's permission.
It has no pedals, so UK law treats it as a motorcycle, and it isn't built to be registered for the road (GOV.UK).

Hyper Bee FAQs
Can I get parts and plastics for a Hyper Bee?
Yes. We stock both standard and upgraded Hyper Bee parts: electrical parts, brake parts, bars and controls, and frame, plastics and seats. You'll find them all under Parts › Sur-Ron Hyper Bee on our site, or contact us if you can't see what you need.
What should I check on a second-hand Hyper Bee?
Check the model year first: 2026 bikes have the 8 kW motor and 58V battery. Make sure the parent remote comes with it, as the power modes and kill switch run through it, and check the battery still holds its charge.
